Ed
ward J. Green, D.M.D., a general dentist in Albany, attended Albany State University, where he acquired his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. Subsequently, he attended the Medical College of
Georgia, and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree.
During his senior year at the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry, the faculty awarded Dr. Green a Certificate of Recognition for demonstrating excellence in academic and clinical performance during his 1979-1983 academic years. In 1983, at graduation, from the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Green was an honored recipient of the Gold Key and Membership into the Kappa Lambda Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon and was also an honored recipient of the International College of Dentists Outstanding Achievement Award.
After graduating college, Dr. Green taught in the Dougherty County School System from 1967 to 1969. Before becoming a dentist, he worked as a chemical engineer with a major manufacturing company in Albany. He opened his practice in 1983. He served as an interim Instructor for the Department of Pharmacology at Darton College Department of Dental Hygiene during 1989. In 2003 he became an off-campus student externship instructor for the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry.
Dr. Green is a member of the American Dental Association, a Past President and Member of the Georgia Dental Association, Southwestern District Dental Society, American Academy of General Dentistry, and the Georgia Academy of General Dentistry. He is also a member of the Albany Area Dental Society, Pierre Fauchard Academy, International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and Thomas P. Hinman
Dental Society.
Other awards include receiving the National Newsletter Editor's Award for the publication of the Georgia Academy of General Dentistry in 1996, Georgia Dental Association Honorable Fellowship Award in 2001, and a Mayoral Proclamation upon being elected the 2004-20
05 President of the Georgia Dental Association.
Dr. Green is a Congregation Elder at the Albany West Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He served on the Dental Assisting Advisory Board at Albany Technical College and he
served on the Dental Hygiene Advisory Board at Darton College during the '90s. In 2004, Dr. Green became a member of the Board of Trustees at Darton College and is currently serving in that capacity.
When not engaged in professional activities, Dr. Green enjoys fishing, hunting aviation, and golf.
